Rob & Becky T4 SWB Camper
SWB, T4
Job Description
Rob & Becky came to us wanting some help in fitting two side-opening windows and a mechanical health check. Well, we are very surprised it managed to drive into the workshop. The clutch was making a horrible noise, and once dismantled, we found it needed a new clutch and clutch release arm kit, as they were completely worn out. After making a mechanical health check video and sending it to Rob & Becky, their T4, AKA “Suzanna the T44 van", needed new rear brakes, new rear springs, a new front wheel bearing, new CV boots, a new timing belt, a new water pump and new auxiliary belts. They also wanted help with ply-lining, carpeting, flooring and a split charge system. They returned to Sunset Campers for phase 2 of their T4. This time it was for a fully bespoke furniture and bed system. They chose to have high-gloss white-finish furniture with a solid oak worktop and tambour doors built to their specifications. The cushions were upholstered in green to match the floor and the green exterior.

Next, we replaced the floor covering with Altro flooring before making a bespoke U-shaped bed and kitchen pod. This included storage for a portaloo. We built in a 2-burner hob, a sink and a fridge. Peter and Sarah-Jane VW T6.1 Full Conversion
Camper, Elevated Roof, SWB, VW T6.1
Job Description
Peter and Sarah-Jane brought their new VW T6.1 SWB to us for a full Sunset Campers Ltd conversion. They wanted a Skyline Aurora roof, colour-coded in Ravenna Blue, with Maritime Smoke Grey Scenic Canvas. Inside, we have fully sound-deadened and insulated the van throughout and finished it with ply lining and smoke-grey carpet. The customers chose Vanshade panels with Midnight blinds and Camper Glass windows all round. We used DoDo Mat Duo sound deadener and insulation on the floor and finished with new plywood and Altro flooring in the Blizzard colour. For the furniture, we used an Evo Design 1200 with a 2-burner hob, a sink and a 50 L fridge. The layout matched well with the 120cm RIB bed and matching re-trimmed front seats in Black Leather feel with Blue Diamond Stitch. To save space inside the van, the customer opted for an underslung gas cylinder with a BBQ outlet. A Loc8 door table was fitted into the sliding door, which is perfect for outdoor dining. The Reimo awning multi-rail was attached for the customer to fit their awning or canopy. We fitted a 240v Power Control System with eGrille EHU, along with a Leisure battery, DC-DC split charger and 160w Solar panel with MPPT controller. For colder weather trips, a 2 kW Autoterm Diesel heater with a comfort controller and CO₂ alarm was added. Nigel's and Rachel's T6.1 Camper
Camper, Day Van, LWB, VW T5.1
Job Description
Nigel and Rachel brought their VW T6.1 LWB to us with a view to a full Sunset Campers Ltd conversion. We appreciate that a full conversion can be an expensive venture, so, as we have done for previous customers, we broke the build down into four phases. They choose to do the first 2 phases first, which included full sound deadening and insulation, followed by the first fix of wiring. This was covered with new high-line plywood panelling and two-tone carpet lining in graphite and silver. The floor was sound deadened and insulated with new plywood and covered with Altro flooring. They opted for the 130cm RIB bed with VW's T6.1 brick upholstery to match their existing front seats. To finish off this phase, we fitted 6 LED dimmable touch-sensitive spotlights. They then returned for the final two phases of their build, which included Slimline VanFurniture with a fridge and second-fix electrics with an eGrill Electric hook up. We also included a Loc8 table in the sliding door.
